Fortunes & Feng Shui In The Year 2004
LILLIAN TOO speaks with renowned Hong Kong fengshui practitioner MASTER KING KWONG and exchanges views on what is in store for the coming year. Together, they gaze into the feng shui crystal ball and pour over the year's paht chee and feng shui charts to bring us this detailed examination of prospects for 2004. Here is a summary of their detailed analysis for the coming year.

Master King Kwong says…
"This is a year when the heavenly stem is yang wood, and yang wood is big and hard, suggesting strength and reliability. The earthly branch is yang metal, which consists of the hidden elements water and earth. So in the year 2004, the upper element is wood and lower element is metal. The main feature of the year is that it is a year when metal controls wood. On the surface, this seems like there is hostility and disharmony and indeed, the year will manifest signs of continued aggression and hostile forces. But metal and wood also suggest productive efforts being expended. This is because at a deeper level of analysis, metal transforms wood, fashioning it into ten thousand beautiful things."

Lillian Too agrees and adds…
"The elements indicate that the year has the potential to be favorable for wood-based industries which are transformed by metal into new products. Therefore the year favors construction industries, furniture businesses, and real estate enterprises. The world economy does look set to improve, since metal controlling wood indicates productivity. In the stock markets, the energy of the year seems to favor plantation and property development companies. All metal-type industries including high-tach companies will also tend to do well.”

Beginning of Spring - 4th Feb 2004
This year, Spring or the lap chun (4 th February) occurs after the start of the lunar New Year and so occurs in a Wood Monkey year, in a Fire Tiger month, on a Water Ox day, and a Water Dog hour. On the following page is the 4 pillars chart of the New Year based on these details. This chart reveals the general trends for the year.
From this chart, we can see that based on the Hsia calendar, the year 2004 begins on a water day in the season of spring. The elements are thus in harmony on this day. The earthly branch of wood tiger in the month pillar indicates that the water of the day will bring wealth to the year. There is wood and fire in the month pillar and this also suggests that conditions are present for a financially successful year.
At the dog hour, fire and earth combine to create wealth and status. Thus the year will see a more than usual number of people being elevated in rank. There will also be many people who can be described as nouveaux rise who will rise into public prominence.
However, note that the year elements clash with the month elements. These two pillars show that wood is being destroyed by metal and exhausted by fire. This suggests that during the first 6 months of the year, there will be accidents and natural disasters - most of which are to do with burning wood or wood being destroyed. So disasters such as forest fires are likely.

THE FOUR PILLARS CHART OF THE YEAR 2004

based on the first day of spring 4th February 2004

Business people will enjoy plenty of growth luck. These positive indications are brought by the water element being present in both the day and hour pillars. Water strengthens wood and when the wood element is so strong as to appear in both the month and year pillar, it suggests growth and success.
According to Master King Kwong, bilateral trade agreements stand a good chance of being amicably concluded between countries and business opportunities reach infinite possibilities. The Asian Economy will experience faster growth rates than in the previous two years. There will be asset growth, so homes and property investments made last year should show a profit. Investments will generally yield a good return.
Despite the good news on the economic front, politically however, there continues to be hostile Chi being felt throughout the globe. There is an air of negative fearfulness and there will be parts of the world that will have to endure the physical fallout of wars and violence. Metal energy is strong during the year suggesting a continuing use of weapons, bombs and bullets. Both the East and West will feel the negative effects of this hostility. The East has the confrontational star 3, while the West has the violent star 7. Both are bad news.
Those who travel a great deal in their work are strongly advised to wear amulets and talismans for protection. One of the best protections against premature death is the idea to wear the images of one's secret astrological friend and horoscope allies.

The new period of 8
This year is the start of Period 8, a momentous event in the feng shui world. The phenomenon of time influences on feng shui is something which all feng shui masters have a great deal of respect for. This is because many big tragedies and conflicts get activated during days when the time Chi is negative and not kept under control. The study of time influences in the fortunes of any year or period is broadly referred to as Flying Star feng shui.
No feng shui master worth his salt will ever ignore the time influences on the feng shui of homes and offices. Usually, time analysis of feng shui is confined to the analysis of the year and month Flying Star charts. But whenever a period change occurs – and this happens once every twenty years - the year when the change occurs becomes extra significant. In the case of 2004, period 7 changes to period 8 on the day of the lap chun i.e. on the 4th February 2004. With the new period coming into existence, several things will immediately happen.

1 The number 7 loses its positive Chi and its success-bringing
energy of the past twenty years. Instead, the and burglary
and hostility. It is therefore a number that now needs to be
"remedied" whenever it occurs either as a number in your
house natal chart or in an annual or month Flying Star chart.

2 The number 8 becomes extremely auspicious.

3 The Western seaboard of continents is depleted of energy
and the Northeast land masses of the world will start to
prosper Thus in the United States, California and other
western states will begin to lose energy. Instead, states like
New York, Boston and so forth, in the Northeast, will start
to come into their own. In Asia, we wilI see the rise in
importance and stature of China, which lies on the Northeast
            of the Asian land mass.

There is a great deal that needs to be understood about the new period 8 and how it affects everyone's homes. This means that unless efforts are made to revitalize the Chi energy of homes, the start of the new period could cause one's luck to stagnate and even evaporate.
In 2004, it is very significant that the number 5 and thus the affliction known as five yellow is in the center. Master King Kwong from Hong Kong strongly advises that the center of any home must not be renovated or disturbed in 2004. Doing so will activate the negative effects of the five yellow which brings legal problems and accidents. Wherever the five yellow flies to each year, that place must be quiet. The less movement the better, and any moving objects such as clocks, fans and so forth must be removed.
Lillian Too has undertaken serious research into the start of the period 8 and the effects of the five in the center during the first year of the new period to design the best remedy for the much-strengthened five yellow all through the new period. This is because earth energy is very strong in the coming twenty years.
The best metal cure for the five yellow for the entire period of 8 is the five- element pagoda. Each year, wherever the five yellow occurs, it should be controlled by the five-element pagoda. The metal windchime is still an excellent cure, but using six coins or the pagoda is even better, as what is required now is for the metal cure to work silently.

The white star 8 is the wealth star and it flies to Northeast. It is best to sit facing Northeast. Or if your main door is facing Northeast, it will be very auspicious. Always open the door to let the Chi come in and it will increase your wealth energy, it will also bring fame luck. You can use this location for study or as a workroom.

The white gold 6 is the declining Chi star in the Northwest. While 6 is a number that brings good luck, nevertheless its energy is said to be weak.

The Feng Shui chart of 2004

The green star 4 is the education star and in 2004, it is situated in the Southeast. Turn this room into a study room. It will bring good results and good examination luck. It will also bring you children (descendents luck) if you have bedroom located here. But 4 is also the sexy star so efforts should be made to avoid placing water here. Water in the Southeast in 2004 could lead to sex scandals.

The number 3 star is the argument star and in 2004 it is in the East. This means that tBr those whose main door faces East, they will have to cope with arguments, conflict, problems with the authorities and even court cases. Legal entanglements will bring mental stress and strain. The number 3 star must be remedied with red and gold items. Use red or tile fire element color to cure the number 3 star. Avoid using sharp objects such as accident to your leg.

The black star 2 is the illness star. This year it is in the Southwest. If there is yang water placed in the Southwest part of any home, it could cause stomach illness or other womb related health problems. The number 2 in the Southwest tends to deplete the energy of women, especially those who are becoming first time mothers. Control the illness star 2 with metal windchimes or six metal coins.

The white star I flies to the North sector in 2004. This will be ideal for literary and educational pursuits. If the direction faces the sea, or any body of natural water such as a lake or river, it will bring many wonderful creative opportunities to those who can visually see the water.

The purple star 9 is in the South. This brings excellent fame and high position luck to those whose birth signs indicate good fortune and for whom the fire element is auspicious. Such people are usually people whose paht chee or four pillars chart gets strengthened with fire energy. When they also stay in the South part of their homes this year, they will see their luck ripen and unfold.
